Busy doing homework. Currently doing exercises for chapter 3 in this textbook: MEDICAL TRANSCRIPTION: TECHNIQUES, TECHNOLOGIES, AND EDITING SKILLS, Third Edition, by Alice G. Ettinger and Blanche Ettinger. Chapter 3 is a general review of medical terminology, human anatomy, and pharmacology, all of which I’ve previously studied in three separate courses in previous semesters. Although I’ve memorized all this material (and more) before, I find that this review is very useful. There are a number of terms I’ve not come across in a while, so this is helping a lot. Looking ahead at the next chapter, I see that it will be mostly review of editing skills. That should be a little bit easier. I hope.
Spring 2012 semester is almost over, and I’m presently studying for my last quiz for my medical transcription class, which I have tomorrow night. Here is a drawing from my textbook (Hillcrest Medical Center Beginning Medical Transcription, 7th edition) showing the structures of the breast. Thank goodness this is mostly review for me after having previously taken courses in human anatomy and medical terminology. Next fall I will be taking a course in advanced medical transcription. I wonder what that is going to be like!
